DL Chemical produces two products associated with lubricants, namely PB(PIB) and EPO. Our team specializes in technical lubricants, and our primary role involves supporting the PB and EPO business teams with technical data. In addition, we create formulations tailored to customers or potential customers. Our tasks encompass introducing products to customers and identifying new items that can add value to PB and EPO. Our focus is on maintaining a robust technical foundation, supporting business activities, and exploring innovative solutions to enhance the offerings of PB and EPO.

I became acquainted with DL Chemical through my Ph.D. advisor at Kyung Hee University. My advisor highlighted that DL Chemical is a prestigious company in Korea and emphasized that joining the company would provide an excellent opportunity for individual growth and competency development. This recommendation fueled my interest, prompting me to pursue the possibility of working at DL Chemical.

The appeal of the R&D work I am currently responsible for lies in providing technical support to bolster the business unit. Leveraging my technical expertise, I actively reach a broader customer base. Additionally, I am dedicated to exploring new items that can enhance the value proposition of PIB.

One of the most rewarding projects I recently led was coordinating a lubricant seminar in Indonesia to introduce DL Chemical's products related to lubricants. The goal was to attract approximately 20 companies as participants. With the support of the entire team and collaborating companies, the seminar successfully took place and exceeded the target number of participants. Through this seminar, I had the opportunity to expand my network within the lubricant industry, not only in Korea but also in my home country and globally.

I and my family have truly enjoyed our life in Daejeon. The city offers many facilities that are incredibly supportive for families, catering to the needs of our children. One notable aspect is the abundance of science-related museums, reflecting Daejeon's reputation as a prominent science city in Korea.
Working at Daejeon's DL Chemical R&D Center has been a positive experience. My colleagues' collaborative and supportive nature has played a significant role in making my daily life more manageable. They have been accommodating, particularly in everyday life, such as handling documents and assisting with my child's schooling. This support has been invaluable, especially for a foreigner like me.
Overall, life at the Daejeon R&D Center has been enriching and fulfilling.

The culture that I would like to highlight at DL Chemical is characterized by a strong work ethic exhibited by every team member and a spirit of collaboration among teams. The emphasis on hard work is evident in the dedication and efforts put forth by each individual. Additionally, the collaborative atmosphere fosters teamwork, allowing different teams to work together seamlessly. This culture of diligence and cooperation contributes to a positive and productive work environment, making DL Chemical a place where collective effort and mutual support are highly valued.

Someone who excels in research and development (R&D) should possess distinctive characteristics. A researcher should have a profound curiosity, analytical thinking skills, and resilience to face challenges without easily giving up. Additionally, researchers should demonstrate high collaboration abilities, effective communication, and a solid commitment to their projects. These skills are crucial in creating a productive and innovative R&D environment.
